Rising Stars

Since 2004, Solihull Symphony Orchestra has organised an annual Rising Stars programme each spring. The programme allows a small number of talented young local musicians the opportunity to perform a movement from a concerto or something similar with a full orchestra - usually for the first time. The performancel is an informal family affair and always attracts a large audience of family, friends and regular concert goers.

Recruitment for Rising Stars usually begins in the Autumn of each year, but if you're interested in the 2011 event, please enquire now. All dates are provisional at this stage.

31 October 2010 - closing date for applications

14 December 2010 - final date for auditions

31 December 2010 - final date for payment of £30 deposit by successful applicants

February / March 2011 - Rising Stars rehearsals

Saturday 26 March 2011 - Rising Stars Concert

Businsess sponsorship of the orchestra would allow your organisation to be associated with this programme. The costs of the event - the hire of unusual pieces of music, and specialist supporting musicians - otherwise falls on the performers themselves. Please contact us for further details.
