New Rehearsal Venue

First Rehearsal at new venue

From the beginning of November, Solihull Symphony Orchestra will be meeting in a brand new venue. The orchestra has joined forces with Solihull School, and will be holding its weekly rehearsals on Tuesday evenings in the recently completed David Turnbull Music School. The new building, designed by Birmingham architects the Malcolm Payne Group contains a purpose built rehearsal studio, together with classrooms and recording facilities.

Stephen Perrins, Director of Music at Solihull School said, ’’We’re delighted to welcome Solihull Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra  has given several concerts in the school’s Bushell Hall and to be able to use the music school’s  outstanding facilities for rehearsals  further cements the relationship between the school and local musical organisations’.  Martin Leigh, Musical Director of the Orchestra said “We are very grateful to the Head, the Governors and the Music Department at Solihull School, and we look forward to rehearsing in some of the best facilities in the region.” He added, “Our concert on Saturday 28 November in Shirley Methodist Church will be the first opportunity for Silhillians to see the newly  charged orchestra in action!”.
