About

The Solihull Symphony Orchestra is a welcoming and friendly group that enjoys taking on the challenge of a lively and varied repertoire. Our members span an age range from under 18 to over 90.

The orchestra began life as an evening class in Solihull, moving to its independent status in 1990 when Malcolm Peters was invited to become its conductor. Since 2001, Martin Leigh has been conductor and musical director.

In January 2005, the orchestra changed its name from Knowle Sinfonia to the Solihull Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra is affiliated to the National Federation of Music Societies, and supported by the PRS Foundation for new music.
